Wine Adventure
Welcome
Kathy and I are very excited to share the beautiful Tuscan countryside that surrounds Greve-in-Chianti and Panzano-in-Chianti where our friends Nigel Tully and Deborah Cunningham have their 1000 year old farm, Ripertoli.
We will act as your hosts while the local people who know the roads and the best places to go, guide you through the wine and food of the Chianti wine region. Our trips will be scheduled in the spring to see the vineyards awakening for the year, and in the fall when the grapes and olives are almost ready for harvest.
Accommodations
Ripertoli is a 1000-year-old farmhouse (pictured above) with its own secluded 40-acre estate 20km south of Florence and 10 minutes from both Greve-in-Chianti and Panzano. There is over an acre of well-irrigated park and garden, a beautiful large swimming pool, several acres of well-tended olive groves (where owners Nigel Tully and Deborah Cunningham pick the crop every November and make their own extra-virgin olive oil), 25 acres of woods which ensure privacy, and a marvelous family team which takes care of the whole Ripertoli estate as though it were their own. This wonderful home provides a base of operations for a week of adventure in the heart of the Chianti wine region.
